You have to be willing to sit through horrible albums sometimes to look for new music and you might find it impossible but it’s what makes life worth living to me. it takes the discipline of a warrior to be a true music lover not everyone can survive it

#honestly some people really are out there writing characters OOC#but within the story the characterization is consistent and engaging#and you’re like…ah…sometimes a weed is just a plant out of place

being in your early 20s is crazy bc there’s people who are literally married and people who’ve never even dated and people who are trapped in their childhood bedrooms waiting to get out and people who are trying to live out romanticized dream lives and people who are completely on their own and people with multi tiered support systems and we’re all supposedly peers and none of us think we’re doing it right at all

my long and meandering red, white & royal blue movie review

disclaimer: before i start, i understand that because i am a huge fan of the book, i will be more critical of the movie. i also understand that movies cannot be 1-1 replicas of the books they’re based off of. that being said, the movie was a perfect romcom: funny, sweet and heartwarming - but i felt there was something missing and i would like to talk about it. 

books and movies are going to tell narratives differently because the mediums are fundamentally different. i'm not upset with this movie for being a movie. i cannot imagine the amount of work that went into it, so please do not take this review as being dismissive of that.

this is more of a list of observations, rather than an assessment of quality.

finally: these are my interpretations of the characters, if you disagree, great! that’s what makes literature exciting. 

so, my biggest issue with the red, white & royal blue movie is this: where is everybody?
